Title: mach 3 crashes after any movement
Post by: Deans_Dynamic_Designs on May 02, 2020, 06:41:08 PM
am setting up a new machine.
I can jog just fine, using a stb5100 bob, w/ the push button MPG that came with it.
I need to calibrate my axis, so I use the "set steps per unit" under settings.
After it completes the movement, asks for the actual movement, and I press enter, the program freezes.
it also will freeze when entering g code manually.
i'm using a 2012 mbp via bootcamp. the bob is connected through usb.
don't know where to start, this has been a huge learning experience for me.
any guidance appreciated, tell me what info you need me to post.

Mach is only supported under the genuine Windows OS so it is doubtful if 'bootcamp' will allow correct operation. Best to obtain an old PC (perhaps running 32 bit WinXP) and see if that cures the problem.

I tried that. used a pc we had lying around the house. downloaded the mach 3 directly from their website. is there some way to see what is going on in the background?
