Title: Mach4 and Huanyang HY series VFD
Post by: Q*bert on October 13, 2019, 10:51:27 PM
There is a plugin for Mach3 that allows you to control a Huanyang HY Series VFD that uses a non-standard modbus protocol via a USB to RS-485 converter.

Does such a plugin exist for Mach4, or do I need to upgrade my VFD to one with a standard modbus implementation?

If I need to upgrade my VFD, can anyone recommend a Mach4 compatible one that will put out 1.5kw and operate on 110Vac?

This is the last piece keeping me from going from Mach3 to Mach4...

Hi,
there have been a few posts about the early model Huanyang VFDs that require a special plugin.
To my knowledge no-one has written a similiar plugin for Huanyang/Mach4.

The latest model Huanyng VFDs ARE standard ModBus, I think the models are appended with a suffix -GM, or GS or
similar. Clearly Huanyang must have been getting flak because of their non standard interface.

I personally have always had good success with Delta VFDs.
