Title: editscreen terminology
Post by: msm@mvero.com on September 16, 2019, 08:52:36 PM
I confused.  it happens often
when I look at the statement syntax in the api section in documents they use label the parameters as "section" and "Key". Is that same as "name" and "initial value" under the configure/plugins/RegFile?  I am trying to create a new instance of "remember position" and "return position".

Hi,
the words 'section' and 'Key' sound very much like the terms associated with Mach4 <profile>.ini file.

Are you using Mach4?

Thanks Craig… I think you correct . these Lua statement are call to a spot on the .ini and not the registers. After a year I decided to pull the plug on Mach4.  Artsoft has docmention to get you started but it falls of a cliff beyond that.  Given the unlaying complexity of the db 25 legacy, the software and hardware split... the lack of documentation is a huge and needless consumer of time.  The email support is mostly cut and paste stock answers regardless of the question. tTe grass at Centroid looks greener.... We'll see  Thanks again
