I am currently using Mach 3 with a Huanyang VFD and the "royaumedeole.fr" Plugin for RS485 control. It works great! I am wanting to switch to Mach 4 and am wondering if there is something similar for it. Or does anyone know if that plugin will install on Mach 4?

Mach 3 plugins will NOT install into Mach 4. I can answer that part. As to if there is something similar to that Mach 3 plugin, I don't know. :(

Hi,
Mach4 has a very good Modbus plugin, in my opinion light years ahead of the Mach3 Modbus plugin.
If I understand correctly many early model Huanyang VFDs did not follow a strict Modbus protocol at that was why it was
necessary to have the royaumedeole.fr plugin.
More recent models of Huanyang VFDs are Modbus compliant. If memory serves correctly the models that are Modbus
compliant are appened with the letters "GM" or similar.
Do you know what model of VFD you have? Is it a Modbus compliant one?

It's a HY02D223B. I don't see anything in the manual about ModBus. Any Ideas?

Hi,
that looks like an early model and probably not Modbus compliant.
If I understand correctly this VFD followed largely the Modbus protocol but differed in a number of details which
therefore required a specialist plugin.
Every other VFD on the market IS Modbus compliant and Huanyang bowed to pressure to comply with their
latest models.
Unless another user has written a plugin for it in Lua you have two choices:
1) Write your own plugin
2) Ditch it and get a Modbus compliant model.
