Title: License Updating Mach 3
Post by: Spandex on July 22, 2019, 09:07:24 AM
Hi, I would like to confirm how updating Mach 3 works prior to me going to do it. How does the process work? Do I need to uninstall the current version prior to installing the new one?

This suggests you simply install over the top of the old install:

What happens to the license? Can I simply insert the .lic file into the newly installed Mach 3 and it'll just work or do I need an internet connection? (My CNC machine isn't connected to the internet so it would be a massive hassle to try to get the license activated).

Make a back-up copy of your Mach1Lic.dat (just in case).

If re-installing Mach3 (or updating) over the top of an existing installation your license file will be preserved.
If by any chance it is not then copy your Mach1Lic.dat into the Mach3 folder.
