Perhaps check out the uccnc website, they describe the differences quite well. https://www.cncdrive.com/products.html

The UC100 has the equivalent pins of one parallel port.
The UC300ETH has 5x the inputs and outputs, has an ethernet connection, higher pulse frequency, and analog inputs and outputs.

thanks, that seems like the way to go. That will probably be my next upgrade.

If you don't need as many ports and pins as the UC300ETH offers, you might want to consider the AXBB-E, which is an all in one breakout board controller.
The UC300ETH requires a breakout board for each port, or a multi port breakout board.
The AXBB-E has screw terminals for all the pins.

aah yes information is the key. I will investigate that as well.
Thanks,

CNC DRIVE SITE MENTIONS MACH 3, WILL THIS AXBB-E FUNCTION WITH MACH 4?

I would email them and ask the status of a Mach4 plugin. I would expect that they are working on it.
You might also ask them if there are any features that their Mach4 plugins don't support.

Hi,
to date none of the CNCDrive boards that do have a Mach4 plugin (UC100, UC300, and UC400) have many realtime supports
like backlash comp, lathe threading, realtime THC, laser vectoring/rastering or spindle PID.
It seems unlikely therefore that CNCDrives new controller AXBB-E will have them either if and when CNCDrive get around to
making a Mach4 plugin for it.

CNCDrive boards preform very capably with Mach3 and have a large following. Their Mach4 plugin is still somewhat behind
the curve however.
