Title: Mach for cnc saw?

Has anyone used mach to control or create a cnc cut-offsaw? ???
I want to make one and already use Mach on my lathe so I was wondering if this is possible, or would I need something like a plc?

Ask Poppabear, he was playing about with this at the workshop a few weeks ago.
