Title: My home build machine
Post by: lumber60 on March 17, 2019, 02:40:39 PM
I am 59, a retired carpenter finding a hobby

My home build CNC with Nema 34 motors.

Check out the pics attached.

I new nothing about CNC and jumped right in.

I needed simple learning curves and this is what i found. I am enjoying every minute of it.

Hi,
kool. You have worked out how to attach a pic.

Next time try using Paint or some such program to resize the photo. Your pic is so big that you have to scan around
to see it all. It conveys more info if it were reduced in size so you don't have to scroll back and forth.
Generally its considered that 600kB should be the maximum size of any single attached file and in most cases
that works out to pics in the region of 700 x 500 pixels.

Hi  Lumber60,

I have resized your picture as per Craig's recommendations.
It may help if you read this thread;   https://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=24585.0

Thanks,
I found build your own CNC plans on line, modified as i went along due to variations in plan and not really detailed. Hoped for the best and that is how it turned out. I new nothing about it when i started!!

Thanks again,

Hi Lumber60.
'plans are overrated'.....'I never bother drawing plans until I've finished building it'. :)

It was a little more challenging than my cabinet designs just because it was all new to me. Once  i got deeper into the construction of it I started to figure out that all these machine dimensions are variable. I started to tweak things a bit and boom there it is.

Thanks Craig for your patience bumping me along,
