Title: DQ542MA
Post by: schalkvdwesthuizen@gmail. on February 08, 2019, 12:01:35 PM
Hi.

Would like to know if anyone can maybe help me.  I have 2 HY-Div268N Stepper Drivers on my machine. The One started giving me problems and I have replaced it with a DQ542MA.

I Cant get the new driver to work.

Previously with The HY-Div 268N my settings was

Steps 20
Velocity 10002
Acceleration 400

Everything worked perfect until I replace the faulty Driver.

any help will be appreciated

Thank you

had a look to the Manuals:

-HY-DIV268N
EN +: offline can reset signal input side is
EN-: offline can reset signal input negative terminal
Offline enable signal is active, reset drive failure to prohibit any pulse, the output of the drive Power component is turned off, the motor holding torque.

-DQ542MA
ENBL+ is the positive end of direction input pin. This signal is used for
enabling/disabling the driver. High level for enabling the driver and low level for disabling the driver.
ENBL- is the negative end of direction input pin. Usually left unconnected (enabled)

so it Looks like the enable signals are oposite.

check enable on the DQ542MA to be high if you want run the motor

Thank you for the reply.

Do you maybe have a diagram of the wiring.

How do I check the Enbl high.

Sorry new to this

just check with a Voltmeter on EN+ and EN- for 5v

I Checked both  but not sure if there is still something wrong with the wiring.

The Motor almost rattles before it starts to move (if it moves) and the change direction by it self.

I have tried all die wiring diagrams on google what I could find.  Not sure if my steps/velocity and acceleration maybe is incorrect.

do you have torque at the motorshaft if you only turn on the supply voltage?

can you post:

-the dip Switch Settings of the DQ542MA ?
-a screenshot of the Motor Tuning page from the x-axis ?

If I switch the driver on then I cant move the motorshaft if the power is off I can freely move it again.

My connections are as follow:

5V+ to ENBL+
Pul to Pul+
Dir to Dir+

Ground to Pul- & Dir -

Dip Switch

1 Off
2 On
3 Off
4 Off
5 Off
6 Off
7 On
8 On

Sorry forgot to post the motor Screen

This is the settings I used with my previous driver

so your stepper Motor has 3,31 A ?

and the steps per rey are 160 ? that seems to be strange.

to what BOB or Controller is the Driver connected ?

The driver was connected to a Mach3 Parallel controller but I have changed this in the meantime to a usb controller.

The Y Axis is work perfect but on the old motor Driver but the X Axis with the new driver don't want to work.

If I plug the Y axis into the X The Motor also runs perfect so def not the motor

have you tryed to connect the y-Controller to the x Step/dir signal's?

It does exactly the same   :-\  :'(

so the working y-axis Controller is also not working if it is connected to the x-axis signals?

If I unplug the connection from the Y axcis and put it into the XAxis motor. The motor works

Doo it looks like i got the motor to run. But befor the motor starts to run it jumps into different directions and then its starts to run.

Any idea what this could be. I have changes the velocity and acceleration but nothing

do you only plug the x-Motor (A/A- B/B-) to the y-axis Controller?

I have tried that and also with all the wires transferred to other driver

1Off
2On
3On
4Off
5On
6Off

if i have a look to the Manual:

1Off
2On
3On

means 0,6A Motorcurrent

4Off
5On
6Off

means 1/8 step ,if you have a stepper Motor with 400 imp/rev -> 3200 imp/rev

according to this https://wiki.kreitek.org/_media/proyectos:cnc:div268n-5a-datasheet.pdf manual

your posted DQ542MA setttings where:
1 Off
2 On
3 Off
means Motor current 3,31A

5 Off
6 Off
7 On
8 On
means 1600 pulses/rev

according to this: https://www.hobbytronics.co.za/Content/external/472/DQ542MA%20English%20Manual.pdf  Manual

so something does not match

Current is still the same. If i make it less the motor wont turn at all

sorry for the delay,
maybe you can post a photo of the Motor Connections at the DQ542MA and at the HY-Div 268N ?

Hi.

I have read that it can mayne have something to do with the ACPI drivers ?
Title: Re: DQ542MA
Post by: TPS on February 13, 2019, 04:41:48 AM
why should it be something with the ACOI Drivers,
when your y-axis Controller is running on the x-axis Outputs of the BOB,
and only the new x-axis Driver is not working ? :-\

Dont know what to do anymore. At the point to mayne rebuilt with Arduino and use a diffrent platform than Mach3
