Title: pendant
Post by: josh on January 20, 2019, 08:18:14 PM
don't know if mach can do this?
so I am building a lathe  and I am trying to see if a can add a pendant or a joystick
that can move the Z and X axis at the same time but it records every move than it saves it into a program
has anyone done something like this
thank you

Hi,
Mach3 has a Teach function.....if you start <Teach> and execute MDI code a file is generated which remembers
the sequence of instructions and can repeat it.

I don't know whether that extends to either jog or pendant commands. Simple enough to try it.

thank you for the reply
my next question would be if theres any pendant or joystick
that controls the Z and X AXIS at the same time  don't know if it makes any sense

but its basically connecting both X and Z into 1 joystick so when you move at a 45degree  angle just with the joystick it records you Z and X movement.

hope this makes some kind of sense

thank you

mach3 can not "record" the movements, but what you can do is,
create 3 Buttons.

1.-button1 -> create teachfile

2. enter in MDI Spindlespeed , Start spindle, start coolant and what else you Need

3.-jop to a Position

4.-press button2 witch put's the actual Position with a "G1 Xactpos Zactpos" into the file

5.-repeat 3. and 4. so many times you what

6.-press button3 to end teaching

button1 and button3 allredy exist in 1024 screenset (more or less).
