Title: G31 won't follow feed rate
Post by: Stealth688 on November 27, 2018, 05:23:32 AM
I've been trying to figure this out for about a week with no leads.

When I first start mach3 the probe z tool feeds nice and slow.  After I run a program the probe z function feeds at full rapid.  Once this happens ref all home also feeds at full rapid.

I've tried changing the feed rate in the macro and it has no effect.

Hi,
you need to look up G31....the probing command.

Amognst the parameters that you program a G31 command is the feed rate (approach speed), it has the usual feed rate symbol F.
But feed rate is modal. So if a series of machining moves is executed at a cutting speed F300, that 300mm/min AND then
a G31 code is called but you omit to specify the reed rate you want to apply Mach will carry on with F300 as had been
already established.

Each and everytime you call a G31 you should include ALL the required parameters including F or you will get some strange
results.

If I set g31 f4 it still feeds down like a rapid.  No matter if Its in g20 or g21. It moves at the same speed.

XHC MK4-ET with ethernet interface on a 4 axis machine with a rotary. Turns out they released another driver just a few weeks ago. I installed it yesterday and tested the dooky out of it.  It works fine now
