Title: No motors moving...
Post by: HolesinShoes3D on November 27, 2018, 02:42:22 AM
Hey Mach community!

Finally got my electronics wired up today! Exciting stuff. I'm using a modern Windows 10 PC, with a PCI-E to Parallel port card, connected to a BOB as per usual. I've got correct pins set up in Mach 3, and serial port seems to match. My steppers are just holding solid, and I can't get any response from my machine. Is there any troubleshooting I can go through to narrow down the problem?

Thanks!

Hi,
Mach's parallel port will not work with Windows10.

A parallel port (Mach capable) will have to be run on a 32bit Windows7 or earlier OS. Laptops are not recommended for parallel port
operation either.

Windows8, Windows10 and any other 64 bit Windows OS will require the use of an external motion controller like
a SmoothStepper or a UC300.
