Title: Question about Galil and Mach3 interaction
Post by: AMorris on November 23, 2018, 04:58:05 PM
Hello,
Concerning the Galil plugin and the way Mach 3 work together.
1. When you save motor tuning parameters on the Galil board, KD, KP and KI, are these settings used when Mach3 is running, or does the plugin do something else for tuning?
2. Is it possible to edit any part of the Galil plugin?
3. The feed hold function is rather slow to stop the motion. Can this delay be shortened for a faster response?
Thanks, Allen

Hi Allen,

Let me first say that this forum is DEAD. You will see the author of the plugin Steve (smurf) and Kenny (kcrouch) are not responding to any question anymore here. The only help you will find is via older discussions or through the few users that are willing to answer question.

Here is what I've found:

The galil plugin has nothing to do with the PID tuning. The tuning is 100% within the galil software itself (not the plugin). Then if your system is tuned well it will stay tuned well with the plugin.

Theoretically yes since Kenny wrote many years ago in an older thread that the code was available for anyone who ask for it. The problem is how to contact Kenny???

No clue about the feed hold, sorry about this one.  ???

yes but the plugin is paid so how can you not answer the questions of those who buy?
then this plugin works fine?
I see there are many problems around. do you have to buy with your eyes closed? for example the acceleration speeds are managed by mach or always galil?
