Title: 4 axis on the ToolPath screen
Post by: Rkjohn on August 04, 2007, 03:01:26 PM
I'm building a 4 axis machine. All the motors are running properly.
1. On the toolpath screen there is a 4 rather then an "A" why is that?
2. The X axis showes movement of the motor but the 4 axis stays at zero, Shouldnt it read the same as the X axis?

I set up a 4th axis, and the display works fine, the DRO should read exactly what the machine is doing, I can't think of why it would do that.
Here's a pic of my 4th axis doing 4 spirals around a cylindrical shaft.
I'll see if I can work out why it wouldn't move the DRO.

If you have it setup as a slaved axis it will not show the position in the DRO of the 4th axis... Also the 4 was put on the screen because some people will change the 4th axis to be the B rather then the A axis

Hope that helps
