Title: Upgrade from parallel port to ethernet port smooth stepper
Post by: dbur525 on November 12, 2018, 03:04:33 PM
Hi everyone,  i purchased Mach 3 a few years ago and installed it on a windows 7 32 bit desktop with parallel port.
I would like to get a new compute windows 10r and transfer my Mach 3 software over to new computer, how xan i do this conversion without a parallel port? Can i purchase a ethernet  smooth stepper and use that?
Thank you to all that respond

Hi,
yes an Ethernet SmoothStepper will work well, as would an UC300 or 57CNC. These are US or European made controllers,
I would not recommend any Chinese made ones. I would also recommend buying direct from the manufacturer or their nominated
distributor, there are too many Chinese knock-offs on Ebay and Amazon.
