I seem to have to reboot several times before Mach 3 controls correctly. I've tried to just close Mach 3 and turn it on again but it just locks up, so I have to reboot anyway. I am using THC300. Sometimes it loads and controls OK and other times it seems like it loaded correctly but it looses steps, jams the gantry etc. Very fustrating. But when it works it works great.

Sounds like maybe some other programs are running and causing interference. Is this a dedicated PC or does it have all sorts of programs loaded, wireless network connection, etc.?

Yes it does have, Turbocad, Sheetcam, Mach3, a RF keyboard (problem was there before though) and a network connection for internet. No wireless hub though.

Try turning off everything in your start up file and see if that helps. I have sent you a personal message.

I have a similar problem but think that it is the trial version of Mach 3 conflicting with the licensed version. The reason I think this is that when I use start via a desktop shortcut or the loader, I get different opening screens. One displays version x.x and is the trial version screen to the best of my recollection. The other is a colour Version 2 screen.
I have previously uninstalled Mach 3 via the windows control panel, and reinstalled, but the problem persists. The program will run a file, but then tends to freeze, especially after standing idle for a while and require a hard reset.
If there is an artifact process, how do i get rid of it?
Or are there other likely explanations?

Hit submit in error. Couldn't see an edit button:
Windows 7, P5 machine dedicated to Mach 3/ Cut3D

There's no difference between the trial and registered version, except for the presence of the license file.
And there are three alternating splash screens, which is why you are seeing different screens.

Thank you for the clarification on the splash screens.
I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for sources of conflicts that are causing the software to freeze.
Merry Christmas.
