Title: "RUN FROM HERE" Z- Axis goes to Limit switch???????
Post by: barefootboy4 on September 04, 2018, 07:41:54 PM
Hello everyone,
So I have been running Mach 3 for about 8 years now and love it. I do have an issue with the "RUN FROM HERE" command. If for some reason I need to stop a cutting program or maybe catch a false limit trip I normally use the RFH command. When I hit the "CYCLE START" the "Z" will go up to MAX travel and hit the limit switch. After posting this question on CNCzone.com everyone feels this is caused by Mach 3 and not my CAM G-code generator which is RhinoCAM. They have pointed me towards Config/Safe Z. So my question is can someone explain in detail what the settings should be in Config/Safe Z to prevent this issue from happening or am I looking in the wrong place? :'(

Thanks in advance

Steve

Set your SafeZ just below Z limit switch.

Thanks for the quick reply. I assume I set using Machine Coordinates?

Safe Z iz im Machine Coordinates.
When you home your machine, Z zero is just a fraction below Z limit switch (by the ammount of backing off)
