Title: Import BMP, JPG, Gerber and Excellon file
Post by: giordano on November 14, 2005, 08:26:21 AM
I have noticed that the importation of [files] of BMP type and JPG doesn't work correctly and is produced a file of big sizes in long once. Also the importation of Gerber file and Excellon is not possible. Does anybody have resolved these problems? Thank you

There are other programs that do this MUCH better! ArtCam is a good one but it is big money... Ram cam and Bob cad have some art stuff... I think Mesh cam will do some too...
Sorry I am not more help, I make parts not art. I need to get in to the art thing because it looks like fun :)

Thank you
Brian

I had success once but did not cut the code now I cannot get it to work properly.
I do a lot of art but mostly things you can use DXF for. Sometimes just for fun I would like to import a bitmap just for the impression it makes as a background.

So far other than that one time when I did not cut the part it has been nothing but failures. I have a feeling that I should switch to a more powerful system, because I think it is a problem more of processing than anything else.
