Hi,
you'll get more readers and response if you post in the main Mach3 Discussion board.
Having said that I think yours is a fairly common problem.
I assume you are using Windows7 32 bit and a parallel port?
If so then there are at least three recent updates to Windows7 from Microsoft that cause a reboot when used with a parallel port.
There are three things you can do:
1) Identify and wind back the three updates and keep your PC off the Net to avoid other updates.
2) Buy and use an external motion controller like a UC300 or a SmoothStepper, external controllers are unaffected.
3) Upgrade to Mach4, it is a much more recent program which is still in development and regularly updated whereas Mach3 development ceased five years ago.

Hi,
yes I know, probably not very polite....it still makes me laugh though.
Be warned that Mach4 is a new program and many report a steep learning curve. There is a parallel port option for Mcah4, at a cost, $25 but it is not and will
not be fully featured. This means you will require an external motion controller to use Mach4 effectively.
Mach4 $200
ESS $190
2 X C10 BoBs $46
Note the ESS is just my suggestion, there are others, some a little cheaper and others quite a bit dearer. Likewise the two C10 BoBs were my choice, there are others.
I mentioned them because they are about middle of the road price wise....if you want Mach4 you will have to part with some money. I did so about 18 months ago and
I think Mach4 is great.

Um, what does your phone have to with it?

Hi John,
I think the OP is referring to his phone.
It is really not to be recommended; https://openbuilds.com/threads/control-mach3-with-your-phone.406/
