Title: Update mach4 help
Post by: awleaphart on June 16, 2018, 10:35:44 PM
Ok,
I have updated my Mach4. Loader info came over and my controller but no setting as in pin port for controller and no motor setting. Its all blank. I saved the whole Mach4 folder before loading. Can I copy and past from there to my new updated Mach4 folder to get settings back.

Hi,
you need to have a uniquely named profile AND screenset or it will get overwritten when you update.

Thanks Craig,
My profile was g0704 and my screen was set to my mill. I had made a G0704 Screen but I guess somewhere down the line being a newbie it got changed to mymill. I guess all my setting was under screen my mill. I loaded the G0704 screen up but there's no setting. I pretty sure it was set to my mill. I have screen g0704 loaded now. Maybe all my setting will be saved under with Profile G0704 and Screen G0704.
  Craig,
A while back my load license file would not work. I went on the site and I some how got another one. Ii works but about once a month my Mach4 goes back to demo mode and I have to load it again. Is that normal. I have two Load Licence files. One that works and one that doesn't and both on the same PC.
Thanks Anthony L

Hi,
what screen set is your ScreenG0704 based on?

What I suggest is in the  Mach4/Screens folder make a copy of a screenset you like, say wx4.set and call it awleaphartwx4.set say.
Then when you create a profile use it as the screenset. It wont get overwritten.

The licence file no longer works if the PCID changes. If you have reloaded the OS for instance.
