Title: Control Panel
Post by: John40131 on March 21, 2018, 08:26:36 AM
I would like to build a seperate set of buttons seperate from the keyboard on a Control Panel to operate some of the functions of mach3 i.e Jogging X,Y,Z move E-Stop( I know this goes on Breakout board) etc but not sure how to interface with PC using Win7, is there anyone that has built such a panel.

Any info I would be grateful.

Regards John

A pendant is one way of doing this. Just plug and
play. Lots of them out there, but I would ask for
suggestions before purchasing one.

Others may suggest other ideas. I have
a game controller moving all axis, and
rapid.
I have separate feed hold, and of course Estop.

Hi,
if you use an external motion controller like  a UC300, an ESS or a 57CNC they have as many as 30 inputs
to which you can hook up buttons and switches.
The PoKeys 57CNC board also has the ability to accept analogue voltages that might result from a potentiometer say.

If you are low on inputs an Arduino setup as a Modbus slave is always an option.
Look in the Modbus section of this forum for more ideas.
