I have an issue with Mach3 that I am scratching my head about. I went to calibrate the the motors, I hit 5 inches and it moves 5 inches. Every axis good. I load a test part to run and something goes haywire and the motor steps are off. I go to the MDI screen and hit Y1 and the motors move about 15 inches. I then go back into the settings page and hit 5 and it now moves 15". I just can't seem to get a repeatable result. Why do the settings keep changing? Thanks in advance for the help.

Do you always press "Save axis" before exiting the settings screen??
-
No I hadn't because I didn't change the dettimgs . Do I need to regardless of i change something or not.
?
-
No, only if changing something
You are not set for metric and running inch g-code?
-
I was wondering the same thing but on the settings tab when I say move five it moves 5 inches not millimeters.
-
Is this setting correct?
-
Mine is the same as yours, set at mm.
-
and your GCode what does it look like.
G20/G21 ???
-
GCode is in inches.
-
so if you set up mm and GCode is inches, what would you expect ?
-
I agree it wouldn’t work. But the screen says only to change for setTing motor units. When calibrating the axis I tell it to move 5 and it moves 5 inches not mm.
-
OP said MDI - I didn't think we'd hit g-code yet :)
-
Both MDI and axis calibration move by the same amount.

Hi,
When calibrating the axis I tell it to move 5 and it moves 5 inches not mm.
If your native units are mm then when you MDI a move of 5 it should move 5 mm NOT 5 inches. Your calibration is wrong by a factor of 25,

When I go into the axis calibration it moves 5 inches when I enter 5. It also move 5 inches on the MDI screen. Then when I load a GCode it runs way off like its set to mm. Do I have a setting wrong somewhere?
-
But your units are set to MM not inches, so in MDI 5 MUST go 5mm not 5"
Can you check native units setup please?
When you did axis tuning could it have been set for inches and you thought MM - you could have tuned it wrong by the 25 factor :)
If not please post some g-code, also your mechanical/driver setup too.

Quick update. Finally got ahold of a sales rep of the table. After a few tests it was determined there must have been a bug in the program somewhere. We cleared and re-loaded the profile in Mach3 and now everything works as it should. The issues baffled the sales rep also. I do appreciate the help from those who responded. Thanks!
