Title: Probe1, Probe2,Probe3, PMDX411
Post by: rhtuttle on February 20, 2018, 06:27:53 PM
1. When configuring Mach4 input pins I have digitize set to 10 and it is working.  But the only other Probe showing in the input signal configuration dialog is Probe3.  Where are Probe1 and Probe2?

2. When I assign any of the pins to Probe3 I get a message from the pmdx411 smartBob that the Mach4 Probe3 is not supported and will be ignored.  Does that mean you may only have one digitize/probe with the pmdx411?  No support for g31.1, g31.2 or g31.3?

TIA

Hi RT,
the Mach4 plugin for the UC100 is not yet a year old. You probably need to email CNCDrives to get a definitive
answer.

Aside from anything else you can't have many pins left to hook up other probes?

Actually he was asking about the PMDX-411 and not the UCC.

The PMDX-411 only supports one probe input and G31.X is indeed not supported.

As Steve S. said in another post, there could be a hardware solution to this problem.  The G31.x stuff is purely a software convenience that is found nowhere else in the CNC world.  Usually, M codes are used to "turn on" a specific probe before G31 is called.  The M codes would typically control outputs that in turn control relays that enable the probe signal path to the desired probe.  I have multiple probes (tool setter and spindle probe) on my machine and that is how it is handled because it used to run Mach 3 and before that it had a YASNAC control on it.  It works well, so I have never "upgraded" to G31.X.
