Title: Mach3 w/uc100 estop won't reset
Post by: jdm033056 on February 12, 2018, 09:36:49 PM
Hi brand new user
I've set all ports and pins correctly including estop to 15. Both lights are on on the uc100 as they should be. I loaded both Mach 3 and uc100 with ucx00 setup. I'm running Mach 3 in demo for now. As far as I know all was done right. When I launch Mach 3 both lights come on on the uc100. When I click on e stop reset nothing happens, it stays on. History shows this

Sun - 19:01:01 ---Program Startup
Sun - 19:01:04 ---ReConfiguration Estop.
Sun - 19:01:16 ---command killed due to buffer error.

What do I have set wrong? Running Windows 7 64 on an AMD A8 @1.90 gh and 8 gb of ram. Any help? CNCDrive support said it is a conflict in Mach3 of course  :)

Any help? Thanks

Hi,
where did you buy the UC100?  Did you have to install software for the USB link?

Do you have the UC100 plugged in to a breakout board?

What version of Mach3 are you using? You might want to try a different version.

Those messages are coming from Mach3, not the UC100 plugin, which is why CNC Drive said it was a Mach3 issue.

Since Mach3 is not supported at all, you're not likely to get an answer from anyone. I've never heard of this error before.

Bought from a trusted seller it is genuine. Not plugged into the Ghecko yet, just trying to test for now. I downloaded the newest driver and software from cncdrive and installed according to thier instructions.

Version R3.043.066 of Mach3, I hope I can solve it because I do want to use Mach3 (with one of your skins) very nice work. I have 100's of skinning hours with an older recording program.

This same issue has occurred on 2 different computers. Installs were made both through cncdrive installer and individually installed with individual components..

Thanks again, please don't give up on me and continue to think about possible causes.

Hi,
without being plugged into the Gecko what hold s the Estop high?

The normal set up is if the Estop circuit becomes open circuit then Mach determines a fault and it stops. If you don't have an Estop switch hooked up
then Mach may well determine that as an enduring fault.

Either hook up the Gecko and Estop switch OR set Estop as active low (or uncheck if its active low currently) on port/pins.

Change the Active Low setting in Mach3 as Craing suggest.
You also might want to try an older version of Mach3, like 3.043.062, as .066 is know to be very buggy.

That was it. Thank you both. So later on I will be hooking up the Ghecko and checking the motors will this stay in this position of be changed back? If I decide to stay with Mach3 can I download an older version? I haven't bought a license yet for this very reason. I'm considering all options.

From the main machsupport page, go to Downloads > Mach3 and find the FTP link. All the old versions are available there.

Whether you need to change the active low depends on if and how you wire an estop.
