Title: gcode conversion
Post by: gavit on February 10, 2018, 01:09:03 PM
Hi all,
I've just gotten my cnc machine to work and have been able to trace the road runner gcode file.
I've tried converting a foto into a gcode file, which you can see at https://ncviewer.com/
However, when loading it in mach3, it doesn't seem to be able to draw everything.
It makes part of the route and then stops.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Have you got a License installed for Mach, it has a line limit otherwise, that maybe the issue ;)

It should like the following attached file.

I got so excited, I went to go check it.
Thanks for the tip.
Placed the license file and it worked.

Now to figure out how 'read' a gcode file.
I want to know the area it covers, and how deep the Z is.
I have broken a mill :(

Check the Program Limits on the Toolpath page.

Thanks found it.
I'll need to go through the manual of this thing.
