Title: Proximity Limit Switches
Post by: Chaz on October 16, 2017, 03:42:44 AM
Ive had a look through the 57U manual. Is it possible to connect up either PNP or NPN proximity switches as limits / homing?

If the 57U cannot do this, can the CNC board?

Thanks

Note that this is not the official support channel from PoLabs - if you have a question, contact us by opening a ticket on the support page!

Regarding your question - see the manual Mach4 and PoKeys57CNC - step by step guide.pdf (2.55 Mb) (https://www.poscope.com/wp-content/uploads/downloads/Pokeys/LibrariesAndPlugins/Mach4%20and%20PoKeys57CNC%20-%20step%20by%20step%20guide.pdf). It contains the description on how to wire proximity switches to PoKeys devices.

Yes, understood. However I needed to answer stuff like software version etc that I didnt have on me. Plus, here, others can benefit from the answer.

Plus, the response is for 57CNC and Mach4. What about 57U?

The manual I listed contains also general information and exactly the information you are requesting - see pages 14 and 15.

The only difference is that PoKeys57U has weak pull-up resistors to 3.3V and you can add external 10k pull-ups to +5V if the sensor requires.
