Hey all,
New guy here.
Im looking for a G code for a beer flight.
Just something simple to get me started.
Thanks
Danny

Some dimensions may be good...
length / width & material thickness ?
how many holes & their diameter ?
cutting tool diameter ?
-
1" material- 16" long. 5" wide
3 holes (pockets) 2.75"
1/2" deep
The holes need to be far enough away that there's Aprox 1.5" clearance for the beer
-
Something like this perhaps ?

Hi ,
Did you try to run that code on a machine?
It was not cutting the shapes correct
It was way out.
I'm guessing it could be at my end
Thanks for your Intrerest
-
The largest endmill I have is 3/8"
But the shape was way off plus the holes were not round
-
I will do another with 3/8" cutter for you to try.
Tweakie.

Thanks

There definitely is something wrong with the earlier toolpath - it was avoiding a work clamp or something weird.
Try this one - you may need to adjust feed-rates etc to suit your machine.

Tweakie I think there's something wrong with that code as well.
If not it's at my end
I'm having some lash problems on my Y
Rails
-
Have you sorted out you Y axis and made this yet ?
Tweakie.

Hi Tweakie,
My Y is not too accurate but it is getting me by.
I'm practising making a few signs, and asking as I don't expect fine details it will have to do.
Yes I ran the 2 nd file you sent and the pockets we way off. Ie the pockets drifted off more than 1 inch.
I'm using vcarve pro soon at the stage of learning how to create round pockets inside a vector
I'm not set up with a cut through spoil board at this time so if I could just start with just cutting out 3 pocket holes
That will be a start for me.
I'm still having fun though
-
Im going to try this one tomorrow ;D
Any one else with a Beer board ?
-
That's the way to go - start simple and progress from there.
(Routing circular pockets can place quite a lot of stress on a machine and it is likely to show up any weaknesses which can then be dealt with accordingly).

I drink my beer 'out of the can' - never have time to stand it down and look at it ;D
