Title: Single Line Cut for Plates
Post by: Billy De on September 19, 2017, 10:23:40 AM
Hi...Trying to figure out if there is a way to have engraver only make one cut...like a single line font...Cut each letter only once...not each side of the letter...Hope I am Making Sense.... On our Dahlgren...If we use a single line font...it only makes one stroke/pass...like down the middle...
not ...The left side if the "I"...The Right Side of the "I"....ect

If the font you are using is a standard Windows font it is an outline font and will get cut twice as you see. You need a single stroke font. You can find 10 of them for download on the CamBam website. You might give CamBam a try as it is quite nice too.

It may also be worth while taking a look at F-Engrave http://scorchworks.com/Fengrave/fengrave.html (it is free to use).

The "Mono TXT" font in the Write wizard included with Mach3 does a pretty good job as well, (if you have a few aspirin handy)   :)
But, thanks to Tweakie (and Scortch), I'm a long time user of F-Engrave, its fantastic !
