Title: Jogging Issue when switching from Inches to mm
Post by: Cerk on August 27, 2017, 07:47:43 AM
Hi Everyone,
Recently received a new CNC from Velox. It came setup for imperial but we use metric in my workshop. Have reset the profile for mm and recalculated the steps/velocity etc. The issue I have is that when I jog the machine it moves .00025-.00051-.0076-.00102 etc . Instead of increments of .00025. I'm assuming that it's moving in percentage increments of 1"(25.4mm). Can't seem to find anything in the manual to correct this? Does ayone know how to fix this?

Charles

Mach3 only saves it's settings on close.
Once Mach3 has been shutdown correctly everything should be good on the next restart.

Thanks Tweakie,
Have saved and restarted the machine. Problem is still there.

If you jog much farther, does it continue to get further out, or does it come back? My guess is your seeing a rounding error, based on your steps/unit setting. It shouldn't accumulate over long distances.

Hi Gerry,
It moves to the nearest number that is a percentage of 1"(25.4mm) i.e if I want to move 1mm then it will move to 1.0008 .

Might have found the issue. My Older machine (K23925) has metric 5mm pitch screws where as this new velox machine has imperial 8TPI screws. Does this mean that it will always have to round off the position to the nearest metric point?
