Title: Help for a newbie on A axis
Post by: Richcm on May 22, 2017, 02:04:58 PM
Hey

I have set up a simple A-Axis turned item (a heart on a stick) as far as I know I have everything set pretty much ok. A-rotations, homed everything etc. Aspire created the code with x wrapped to a, center for rotation etc. But bringing it into Mach3 and running it the machine tries to do the job above the wood???? (Looks about the radius of the wood above it)

I've tried various combinations of tool path settings and rotation radius in settings, with no luck. It's driving me spare :(

Can anyone help?

Hi,
I have not done it myself yet, but on watching the tutorials for Aspire you need to set Z zero to the centre of your A axis, not the top of the part.
