Title: two motors one drive?
Post by: boblee on June 21, 2007, 04:37:36 PM
Hey Guys  can I run two identical motors off the same drive as long as I don't exceed the amp rating of the drive ?
They are pacsci motors  65v @5 amps  I want to run two of them on a pacsci 165 v  13 amp drive . Can I do it and would it work .
I have two x-axis screws, I tried to mechanically link them via a chain but there is some amount of slop and I'm getting binding .
So I thought that I would put a seperate motor on each screw and run them both off the same drive would that work? what do you think  possible or not ? :-\
 Thanks Guys for your help

I've never tried that, but you can always slave another axis to the X.
I haven't cut any metal yet but that was the way I was gonna do my router table when i get around to making one.
