Title: Lazycam/ Cams
Post by: Thom2000 on April 17, 2017, 04:43:59 PM
Hi folks,
A little off subject.
I need to drill 360,000 holes in a 13"x180" flat sheet metal part.
Lazycam does about 1/200th of this and any more freezes up the PC.
I use Lazycam for most everything so
I'm not sure of other CAMs.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am sure everyone has their own preferences but check out the Vectric range of CAD/CAM software http://www.vectric.com/

Tweakie.

That's a lot of holes to be drilled.
Maybe consider breaking up the program into a smaller repeatable program that would be reliable.

This is one of those cases where a little hand codng may make more sense, and possibly incremental mode too. Use a subroutine for a row of holes done incrementally on the Y axis, increment the X axis incrementally and repeat the sub as many times as needed.
