Title: mach3 material thickness

Not sure this is the correct forum for this, newbie to mach3 and I am trying to figure out where to assign my material thickness to assign depth of cut per pass to not overload my tool. Should it be done in mach mill or should it be done in lazy cam?

Lazycam would be the best if you dont have another CAM program to generate your gcode. Make sure you procede the number with a minus sign (like -0.25")

You can also verify or change the gcode wherever the -Z axis is shown but this is very time consuming if your gcode is large

If you are using the any of the wizards you will define it in the wizard.

If you are using LazyCam then you define it as part of the tool definition. See Tutorial #6 page 100
of the LazyCam Manual available in Members Doc's.

Read the LC manual and don't hack the program as everything that I know about LC is in the manual!
