Title: Need help finding Mach3 settings
Post by: 3Dsigns on April 03, 2017, 08:27:39 PM
My computer died, I think it was the video card maybe. So I took the hard drive out and stuck in another old machine. Now I don't know how to find the file with the Mach3 settings for my machine. Someone said something about an "xml" file or something? thanks

In your Mach3 folder is a file titled <your profile> .xml - that contains your Mach3 settings (there are also earlier saved .xml files in the xmlbackups folder).

If you have moved your HD to another computer then (assuming Mach3 will run) loading <your profile> will automatically load your original settings.

Ok, it looks like that is what's happening but I can't get my machine to move now. I hit the "tab" button on the keyboard and the jog utility pops up but the arrow buttons don't move the machine at all. I also hit the flashing stop button. Thanks

Perhaps you can re do the motor settings and I will also re do all the settings so you have a new .xml for the new PC
