Title: UC100, exchanging Z axis for A axis
Post by: Andy H on September 21, 2016, 04:00:57 PM
I have a UC100 coupled to a 3 axis Sherline mill.
The Z axis step and direction output from the UC100 has recently failed.  X & Y axis working ok.
(It would appear that the processor in the UC100 is not user replaceable and a new UC100 is around £150!)
I can go into Ports & Pins to enable the A axis and setting Step and Direction pins to 8 & 9.  However . . . . . . . . .
Is there a way of fooling Mach3 to output Z axis step and direction info to the currently unused the A axis?

Don't know anything about the UC100 but is it not possible just to set the Z Axis in Machs Ports and Pins to use the ones required (8 and 9)?

Is it the UC100 or the BOB?

They are currently £84 at CNC4YOU :)

I think you need to add postage and VAT to that price Dave.

Thanks Hood,
Yes you are right.  Simply a case of assigning Z axis to pins 8 & 9.
Save myself £100 ish
