Hi All
Does anyone know how to program an aircraft propeller?
I can draw it in Sketch up 8 and convert it to code via Mesh cam but cannot generate a curved profile in Sketch up.
I have to do it in sections as I only have 7 inch of traverse.
The prop is 27.375 diam for a BR2 Bentley radial engine.
THANKS

I have no idea what you need but maybe this will help. :)

An aircraft propeller is about as complex a curve as you can get since it has an airfoil cross section combined with twist to to change the angle of attack for the velocity change from the center to the tip. So unless you have a program that parametricly generates the shape this is a really tough part to do even in high end cad and cam programs.

Hi All
Have decided to rough out to 1/16 of an inch and finish by hand.

Hi,
yeah really nice job. I use 22's and 24's on a 94cc chainsaw engine, they scare the hell out of me at 9000rpm...
