Title: Geckodrive G540 stuck in fault
Post by: scott13 on September 09, 2016, 10:00:10 PM
Newby here.  My Geckodrive G540 board is stuck in fault with no power light on.  I have been chasing a different problem and tried switching to my cable from my stepper to the board.  After a few seconds with the new wire, the wire got super hot and I could smell something hot or burning.  My machine stopped and Mach3 says the estop is pressed. On the board I have the charge pump slid to the "ON" position and in Mach3 output settings I have "charge pump 1" set to port 1 pin 16 and still not able to get it out of fault mode.  Please help...Very inexperienced...Hope I didn't fry my board. Thank you

Try with the charge pump off.

I actually started with it in the off position and now have it in the on position.  No luck either way.

Although they are extremely robust I think you may have damaged your G540. Perhaps contact Gecko for their advice.
