Hey guys,
I am setting up a Taig Lathe with a CNC conversion package and everything is coming along but my "Z" movement seems to be backwards both in jog and program mode (ie numerical increase as the tool advances toward the headstock) . I am using a DriveMaster 3 axis controller and Mach3 Turn. I think my config settings are all correct but I must be missing something. Any suggestions?

under the ports and pins change the Active high state of the Z axis Dir pin :)
That should fix you right up.

That did the job! Thank you so much.

Great!

Hi Brian, I'm new to the cnc fomat, so if I have my lathe set up with Mach 3 Lathe, and my z axis is going opposite the jog direction that I have arrowed, it is probably not a good idea to just go to homing and limits, check the x and z axis to be reversed? Is this what causes my drives to fault after jogging a short distance (maybe an inch or two at the most?) I have had them set this way for 2 months and have never been able to run the saddle of the lathe the full length of the bed.
In your reply to Wrong way "Z", you said to go to ports and pins, but where to go from there? Is it motor output, input signals, or output signals? It is all a foreign language to me, but anxious to learn!
Thanks, Glenn

To change the Axis Direction go under ports/pins / motor output and change the Dir pin active high state for that axis and you should be good to go...
What type of moptors are you running?
Thanks
Brian
