Title: Mach3 Spindle output stopped working
Post by: Filby on July 24, 2016, 11:37:13 PM
Hi,

Just fired up the lathe to do a bit of work and the spindle control has gone. It has been working perfectly fine for about the last 2 years since I put in a VFD to control the motor. Chased the issue all the way back to the pinouts on the parallel port and there is no 4.3v when I turn on the spindle. If I change the same ports that I use for the spindle to say coolant output it switches on and off but when I go back to spindle there is still no output. It seems to be a software issue. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Fil

Two thoughts come to mind…

It could be an accidental change to your setup – perhaps go to Operator / Restore Settings, follow the onscreen instructions to go back to an earlier set-up and see if that solves the problem.

Alternately it could be failure of that particular pin on the parallel port – perhaps change your settings, and wiring, to use another pin (assuming you have an unused output pin available).

Tweakie.
