I am running Mach3 on a Taig mill. I have just set it up. It appears that my Y and Z motors are working OK but when I jog the X in either direction it will only turn the axis a small distance and then automatically changes direction
I need help

As a first step I suggest you check your wiring, in particular, the wire that connects the X axis Direction signal between the PC and the axis driver.
Tweakie.

Thanks Twe.akie
The X motor rapidly reverses even when it is removed from the drive. I swapped the serial port with no luck. When I swapped the Y motor with the X motor I found that the table was very hard to move even with the manual crank and the Y motor really labored. I saw no breaks or damaged wires so maybe I fried the motor because the the table was so tight.
I there an adjustment I can make to free up the table? Is the one brand of motor that is better than another?
Thanks.

I just read about adjusting the Gib. How do you know when it is not too loose?
