Title: Mach3 won't load G-code that has previously worked - Bad character?!?
Post by: goswatches on May 26, 2016, 05:59:35 AM
Hi,

I'm a bit desperate since I need to be cutting things now but can't load ANY G-code into Mach3 anymore. It says bad character on line 0 but there is nothing wrong there (before a comment) and I'm also trying to load files that I've used in the past but Mach3 claims that there are some garbage characters beginning the file, when there obviously isnt'.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Patrik

Resolved: Mach3 don't like to import any G-Code that contains national characters, even in comments. All imports will be "corrupt" after that.
Solved by restarting Mach3 and cleaning the new G-codes from Swedish characters...

Yep, just basic single-byte ASCII characters.
Cheers
