I got this machine as a kit and have made a number of things for it. I have the famous huanyang vfd and am contemplating ordering a rs485 to usb to run modbus for huanyang on mach 3. Can anyone guide me on this topic? Also i am in the process of wiring limit switches and homes for the x axis and y which the y is slaved to the a axis. I have concluded if i wire the limits in series with e-stop that leaves me 4 outputs on b.o.b. ...... I would use a switch on both y and a axis motors and one for the x axis home. That leaves me one output for making a auto tool z-setter. I have mechanical switches because I plan on doing metal also. Im out of my shop now so I'll post some pics of everything when I get out there.

Never used one, but I thought I've read that the Huanyang does not use standard modbus. Most people use one of the two plugins for the Huanyang with RS-485

Your probably right I've done so much reading I've confused myself :)
