Title: Newby Help Request
Post by: Pkirk on May 19, 2007, 09:35:38 PM
Hi all. This is my first post and hope it is in the correct place.
I have just recived my electronics, Stepper Motors and Mach3 software, to convert my Warco Mini Mill http://www.warco.co.uk/shop.asp?catid=40&ProdId=286. to CNC.

I stripped my Mill and had a look at the steppers and had a think about how to set them up. At this point a friend came in to see what I was upto. He made the comment " Why spend all this money and time converting this little mini mill to CNC, onece you get it all sorted and lern how use it, you will want a desent, larger Mill that you cauld actualy make something on."
I think he is correct.
My Question is. What Mill to go for. Which would make a nice benchtop Mill, which would convert nicly to CNC.
What should I look for in a Mill?
What should I avoide?
I think I would spent £1000 ish for new or 2nd hand.

Thanks

Thanks
