Hello, I am having a strange thing happening with my Galil DMC 4163 and Mach3. Sometimes as a program is running, the motion just stops for a few seconds during a move then continues like nothing has happened. Usually not a big deal unless it's during a finish cut where stopping is visible. I am using XP connected through ethernet to my Galil. I would suspect that Mach is giving a zero speed command to Galil at a random point while the computer or Mach thinks about something. To my knowledge of Galil programming, the only way to stop and start motion during a commanded move, is the SP0 (zero speed) command to that axis. I have found no pattern as to when this happens. Has anyone else seen this and does anyone have a method to test or fix it? Thanks for your time, Allen

Allen,
I was wondering if you found the cause for the pausing of your system. I recently got my machine up and running with MACH4 and Galil DMC-4143 and have experienced similar behavior. I believe the problem is more prevelant when I run in > 100% feed override but that may be a coincidence. Anyway interested to know if you resolved.
Thanks
Jeff

Jeff,
I have not found a solution. I don't see any difference with a change in buffering or any feedrate. I doubt it is in the Galil as I run several Galil controllers and the only one that does this is with Mach.
