Title: Mach3 Controlled embroidery Machine
Post by: khalid on January 13, 2016, 11:38:56 PM
Hi guys and seniors,
I am currently developing the software to generate Gcode for embroidery machine. Yes for real industrial embroidery. Any sewing machine can be modified and controlled with the help of Mach3.
Now please tell me who want to make this dream true!... The discussion is open... I will soon show my software screenshot and will share the screenshot of the software as will as high speed DIY embroidery machine videos controlled with Mach3.

Here is the 1st High speed video by Kiefer, He used servo motor for controlling the wheel rotation... That is the 1st high speed embroidery ( 750 stitches  per minute.)i have seen controlled with Mach3... really promising results :

That is just brilliant  (my best was 240 stitches per minute, with a 300 stitches per minute target, and painfully slow compared to Kiefer's video).

I am most interested in learning more about your software and the machine configuration.

To make the machine faster, some hardware changes is under consideration:
1- Make the whole system computer free i.e. No Mach3
2- Use RAMPS1.4 with two steppers and one Servo
3- Use GLCD and SD card support

Some improvement in software are made:
Whats New in 2.4.7 Beta
----------------------------------
1- Hoop Diameter Circle . The center of the circle will be the machine Home (0,0).
2- A rectangular boundary of the complete design
3-he stitch start point is now visible with blue+ sign. When you click on it , it will provide the location of the start coordinates.

It would perhaps be helpful to others if you attached a .zip file with your software.

Here is the Setup file of the software. It tested in Windows 7 (32/64bit), windows XP...

I hope the program will run on your computer, however, if you find any trouble then install Visual Basic Run times files from:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/vbruntime (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/vbruntime)
The M786 macro to be used in Mach3 software.

Both the files are also attached herewith.

Hi Khalid,

I have not yet tried your latest version but I have used an earlier version about a year or so ago to generate my Gcode when experimenting with different methods of machine control.

Years ago a group here worked on Mach3 stitching . I don' think they were ever able to get Mach3 to stitch at a high stitch rate because of  the though put of Mach3 . It was atcually a fairly slow stitch rate. Tweakie may remember it better.

I too would like to see the video a little closer (;-)

BR549, I already posted the Gcode generator software in the initial posts  that takes *.DST file (Tajima embroidery Format) and spit out Gcode for it...
Here is the attached Gcode... I am also working on the Gcode Generator for multi-needle embroidery machine...

Brian,
I just developed the software and this is tested by Kiefer on his machine. He is using UC100 with Mach3. X and Y axis are controlled with stepper whereas the rotation of wheel is done by Servo.
More information can be shared.
