Title: How do you install the PWM drive
Post by: carolmiller275 on January 09, 2016, 01:47:50 PM
I have a Mach3  setup and running but the PWM driver didn't get installed. How do I get it in the system.

Thanks

Can you explain a little more about what you're talking about? There is no PWM driver for Mach3.

I am trying to install a variable speed spindle on my CNC and the mach3 PWM drivers will not install. Followed the directions in the manual and the system said that their is no information in the mach3.inf file. I am installing this on an XP machine. Any clue to what I am doing wrong.

Try double clicking DriverTest.exe in the Mach3 folder.

I did that and the test seems to say the system is OK. I can't get the driver to show up in the device manager. It should show up as Mach X Pulsing Engines with a sub driver of mach3 Driver. In the install manual there is a reference to the installation of this driver Page 2-10 when I do this it comes back with there is no reference to this driver.

If the driver test is running, then the pulsing engine is installed.
The Driver Test IS the pulsing engine.

The pulse engine mite be installed but the windows driver is not. It should be in the device manager and it is not in there. If you go to the Device Manager and add a new device go to manual install others you see the device mach pulsing engine and it asks for an INF file in the mach3 directory there is a mach3.inf, if you tell it to open this file it returns a screen that say's no information for the driver found. The mach3 install manual on page 2-10 tells you how to install the driver that is what I followed. If that doesn't work where can I go to get an answer???

Sorry just been working on this for 2 or 3 days and am feed-up.

Is your machine working?
As I said, if the driver test is running, than the driver is installed.

What operating system are you using?
Are you using a motion controller, or the parallel port?

Window 95 and a parallel port.
The spindle will not start. All the axes are working.

Mach3 will not run in Windows95.

You need at least Windows 2000 or XP.
