I'm replacing my Threaded Rod with a 5mm Ball Screw and just wanted to verify that I'm doing the math correctly for tuning the motor with a G540 and a stepper with 200 steps per rev.
200 x 10 = 2000
2000 / 5.08 = 393.70
Thanks,
Adam

Hi Adam,
5.08 ?
That would be a .200" lead, not 5mm which would be 10000 per inch or as you say 393.7 per mm.
5mm lead would be:
10160 per inch
400 per mm

yeah, caught that 5.08 in another thread... hence my uncertainty.
The Ball Screw has a 5mm pitch (0.196850394 in) not 5mm in length, I think you understood that, I should have been clearer.
So, I think this is correct then?
200 (stepper) x 10 (microstepping) / 5mm (0.196850394) = 10160
Is that correct?

Any additional information you could share on the Velocity and Acceleration entry's to start with?
