Title: How to change an image into Mach 3 language
Post by: AJA on December 14, 2015, 09:45:54 AM
I have been asked to make a brand for a logo.  How do I change an image into a language that Mach 3 will accept?

This will be done on a vertical mill.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
AJ

Load it into a CAD program and trace it. Then bring the tracing into a CAM program.

My cad will only output a .dwg file.  How can I convert that g code?  Lazy cam does not work.

Most other CAM programs can read a .dwg file.
Are you sure you can't save as a .dxf? Almost every CAD program can.

Save as the oldest version of .dxf file that you can, preferable v12 or older.

I've tried R12 asc II, R14 asc II, R2000-2004, R12,13, and 14 binary among others.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

As far as I know a dxf file is just a text file so open it in notepad and see if you can read it.

I hope this helps Brian
