Title: DDSM3_V5.0 (USB controller)
Post by: 2katia2 on October 02, 2015, 12:49:01 PM
My Controller is DDSM3_V5.0 (USB controller).

When I'm using: No Device or Normal printer port operation, Mach3 works perfect.
When I'm using: DDREAM_D-DDREAM-Plugln-Ver-2-0a ( the USB driver)
     1.   I cannot jog with keyboard and even with mouse (after I open jog panel with TAB key)
     2.   When I run G-code nothing happen.

I tried it on win7 computer and different win8 computer
I re-installed mach3, I uninstalled driver and installed again, I disabled the network adapter.
Still no results.
It worked great till 3 days ago.

Is there any another driver, in addition to "DDREAM_D-DDREAM-Plugln-Ver-2-0a"
that I can try to use it, instead of the "DDREAM_D-DDREAM-Plugln-Ver-2-0a"?

If no one here can offer any help, you may need to refer to the manufacturer.

I wrote to the factory, but they are Chinese without technical support.
Just a salesperson who's trying to help me.

I have every sympathy but that is exactly the reason that many of us do not buy the cheap products. It is often better to pay a bit more for a product (perhaps still made in China just the same)  BUT which includes good technical backup services from the supplier.

Pretty much anything not made in China.

The Chinese are the only ones that can get away with selling products that don't work, and that they don't support.

What is your opinion on USS (USB SmoothStepper)?

The Ethernet smooth stepper has proved to be better supported as they have more of them in the market and they are less immune to electrical noise and interference.

It depends what you want to do with it, but the USB driver has not been updated in near 2 years, but the plan is to update it after they have released their next mach4 driver update (last one dated July 2015)

I'd pay the little extra and get the Ethernet board if I were you (I have both, but keep meaning to sell the USB one as its not used), and if you wanted an smooth stepper...

Suggest you think about an easy to wire / quick to wire breakout board too
