Hi,
When I make a 3D text with Aspire 4.0 to Mach3, it looks okay on Aspire but when i start it on Mach3 and it should start at the top off the wood (cutting at 1mm) but it cuts straith in to the wood about 10 - 20mm Why??
Thanks!!

If you post the first 20 lines of your G-Code I (and I'm sure others too) will see if I can see anything.

Do you have all the settings correct in the material set up in Aspire?
Where is the Z zero set and where did you zero it on the job?
After zeroing the axis, did you recalculate the toolpath in Mach?
Could be heaps of other causes.
-
Make sure the Z is zeroed to the top of the work surface. Aspire allows Z zero to be either the top or bottom (and any place in between) of the material. Also check the Aspire "preview all tool paths"... if you slow down the slide show rate you can see how the tool is cutting.
The Z zero may not be zeroed with the tool in mach as well... Could be allot of things. If you post your Aspire file I can check the settings.

Hi,
Could it be this... The wood that i'm cutting is 18mm but i have under it 2mm wood so I would not cut the table....
Thanks!

Here is the Aspire code I have.

Could it be that your Z axis direction is configured incorrectly ??
From your Gcode line N140 raises the Z axis 25.4mm is the tool cutting into the work at this move ??
Tweakie.

Hi,
I have no idea! What shoild i do? The CNC does it with old projects to...
I hade to install Mach3 again on my computer and mayby I have some wrong settings there... Do you know where I could get the right settings??
Thanks!
-
Post the Aspire file... it will have a .crv extensions. Not the gcode file (.txt)
-
Hi,
Download it from here
www.hangonpuukko.fi/kim.crv3d
And now when I was tring the CNC so I have everything in MM, and it should cut 1mm but it cuts about 3,4mm deep hole at once... Is it confuse with MM and Inch?
-
As far as Mach 3 settings... it depends on your machine, steppers, steps per mm, etc. There are no generic. However, you said this is happening with older cnc projects too so it maybe incorrect Mach 3 settings.
-
Sorry won't download from a www. site.
-
How do I get it here? It says it is to big file
-
Save it as a zip file.
-
Okay here it is
-
The gcode at line 100 has a G21 which is MM.
-
What could be wrong??
-
I have a CNC3040 and when I start Mach3 so It will automaticlly start to drill a 4mm hole. It should make a 1mm hole...
-
Now I just made a box 50 x 50mm and made a pocket toolpath. 2mm deep and it cuts 0.5mm.
That one works okay. But when I make something bigger it dosen't work...

Can't open the .CRV3d file... tried Aspire 4 & 8. Getting error message.
-
This One?
-
Yep the same one. Getting Aspire error code 126663 which I think is a compatibility problem. What version of Aspire are you using? Is it 32 or 64 bit?
-
Aspire 4.015 Where can I see if it is 32 or 64 bit?
Should it be 32?
-
4.015 is 32 bit Aspire. The newer Aspire 8.0 is 64 bit but will convert older 32 bit CRV files. I can't open your file in either 4.0 or 8.0 so something is wrong.
-
What should I do now?
-
The upgrade from Aspire 4.0 to 8.0 is $400. V4.015 works fine unless you want the newer features of V8.0. Try selecting all vectors and exporting as a EPS file. Then post the file.
-
Just sent you a PM...
-
I can open the file ok and I can't see anything obviously wrong.
There are no calculated toolpaths in the file though.
Which post processor are you using to calculate the toolpaths?
How do you set your Z height?
